The Covid-19 vaccines have begun their Rollout. While there have been supply issues that have affected the schedule, vaccines are being given as soon as possible after they arrive in Ireland.

You will be contacted to register to receive your vaccine through your GP or healthcare team, you will not have to take any action before this.

The groups currently being vaccinated against COVID-19 are:

  • those aged 65 years and older who live in long-term care facilities (group 1)

  • frontline healthcare workers (group 2)

  • people aged 70 and older living in the community - at different stages (group 3)

In March we are aiming to continue the vaccination of over 70s, and begin the vaccinations of people in the 16-69 age bracket in high risk circumstances (group 4)

The exact timeline of vaccinations cannot be given as the supplies are still limited. We will continue to update as more information becomes available.

Vaccinations will be received through GP surgeries, vaccination centres and community pharmacies. Qualified and trained healthcare workers will administer the vaccines.

Phone the COVID-19 helpline if you need information on your vaccine if your group is summoned and you do not have a GP.

The HSELive COVID-19 Helpline is open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday.
